Whack Wednesday: Moisture Less Cheeks!!

Happy Wednesday !!! How is your week going so far...mine is going ehhhhh...I am not feeling this weather. Speaking of which todays post is about how much I hate the winter...Well not really even though I do despise the winter what is Whack This Wednesday is dry skin that comes with the cold weather. It like you can be all good and moist before you leave the house and has soon as you step out the door in that air  hits your face is dry like the desert. My issue is my cheeks, not " those cheeks"(get your mind out of the gutter) they get so dry in the winter.. So I have been looking up different tips on how to keep my face moisturized during the winter months and wanted to share them with you lovely people. So Lets Get Into This:

1st Tip-Now I don't know if every culture does this but we black people just pull out some good ol' Vaseline and just rub all that on our faces, it keeps you moist and warm but its kind of sticky lol

2nd Tip: During the winter months it is better to use "ointments" oil-based lotions instead of the water based lotions. The oil based creates a protective layer for the skin and retains more moisture. (I did not know this one, so I learned something new) ps. not all oils are good for the skin..look for non-clogging oils like avocado, mineral, almond oil. Here are just a few options from Drugstore.com ...
 $1.13
 $8.49

$8.49

3rd Tip: Use lukewarm water when washing your face it strips less of your natural oils.

4th Tip: Use a Humidifier, some heating systems dry out the air, a humidifier keeps the air nice and moist :)

5th Tip: Use Hydrating face mask! ( This is something I am really interested in) There are lots of store brand moisturizing face mask but if you a bit cheap like me :) D.I.Y is always a great option....Nature moisturizers to include in your home made mask are honey, yogurt, avocado, olive and jojoba, almond oils, bananas and aloe! Mix which ever combo you like the best and leave on for 10-30 mins. :)

Last But Not Least: Water, Water, Water always a good way to keep the face Moisturize!!

Ok so I hope these few tips will help :) I got most of my tips from web M.D.com. and dr.franklipman.com ( check those sites out they have waaaayyy more tips for the winter) Thank You So Much For Reading.
