A Time To Remember: Zelda Wynn Valdes

 Zelda Wynn Valdes was the first African American  fashion designer and costumer. Some of her clients included famous actress and singers of her era, including Dorothy Dandridge, Marian Anderson, Josephine Baker, Joyce Bryant and Mae West just to name a few. She is also the creator of the famous Playboy Bunny Uniform and the costumes for the prestigious Dance Theater of Harlem.  In 1948, she opened her own shop on Broadway in New York City which was the first in the area to be owned by an African American. She was an amazing designer and a true fashion legend.
