Fashion Friday

Golden Globe winner Gina Rodriguez is my fashion feature today. This is her March 2014 cover for latina magazine. She looks so sexy, this is definitely a step up from her girl next door look you normally see on the Jane The Virgin actress. I love the styling especially the black and white chevron blazer. Just lovely!

What's The T Thursday: How would you feel if your man or women had a "on a break" baby?

First of all let me start this is off with screaming at the top of my lungs SCANDAL IS BACK!! It was a long as winter break but it's over and I am all smiles. Anyway back to telling you what the T is this Thursday. So rapper Ludacris recently won custody of his "on a break" baby with a young lady by the name of Tamika Fuller. The court awarded him custody because apparently he was the more stable parent. They felt Tamika was not financially stable enough to take care of their 13 month old baby girl Cal. Now this would be all fine in good because the important thing is that he child is being well taken care of but there is a rumor going around that Ludacris doesn't have good intentions for going to court to fight for custody. Allegedly Luda only wanted to fight for custody to avoid the $7,000 a month child support he would have to pay to the mother of his child. Tamika has been rumored to say that Ludacris has never seen the 13 month old child since she was born, wanted her to get an abortion and thought that if she had the baby it would ruin his career. She was also rumored to say that he rushed into the marriage with wife Eudoxie in order to help his efforts at getting custody. After hearing all the rumors I hope that #1 regardless of the drama their daughter is taken care of and doesn't have to deal with her parents drama, #2 I think it is sad that a mother has to be separated from her child, and has to deal with a another women taking over her roll as a mother and #3 I feel bad for Eudoxie having to deal with the drama and that the marriage might have been based of Luda just trying to avoid paying child support.Think about when/if you were on a break from your boyfriend, which is never really "a break"( I'm sure they were still talking and sleeping together, maybe not, I doubt it though) and you reunite and it feels so good, only to come find out he had a whole baby while you were gone. No matter what rules and conditions you both set while on this break it still has to hurt. A similar thing happened with Gabrielle Union who's husband also had a "on a break" baby. My question is how would you feel if your man or women had a baby while you were on a relationship break and would you be able to accept the child? Me personally, love is a crazy thing, I can't say that I wouldn't accept the child because it's not the child's fault and we were on a break . At the same time seeing the child, knowing that the person I loved had sex and had a baby with someone else would definitely hurt my feelings and I would feel some type of way about the entire situation. Regardless of how I felt, if I was truly was in love, I can't say for a fact that I wouldn't stay and deal with the current situation the best was I could.  How do you feel about this topic? I would love to read your answers to the question in the comments below!!!! Have a great Thursday and don't forget Scandals back, How To Get Away With Murders back....ad I also watch Vampire Diaries which is back too lol.

Whack Wednesday

Nails and nail design have become a fashion statement. Getting our nails done is to women what getting a fresh hair cut is to men; it's just something that make us feel fresh and on point. A lot of us, including me, love to add a little length and edge with acrylic nails. I also have a habit of biting my real nails, so the fake ones stop me from doing that. The promblems (among many) with fake nails is that you need to keep them up every two weeks by getting a refill. Which brings me to what's whack this Wednesday, Nails in desperate need of a refill (pic #1). It's not cute, it looks a mess and on several occasions I have been guilty of this. There is a number a reason why I waited so long, I hope you ladies can agree with me on this, sometimes I have been too busy to go to the salon, just was being lazy or I just didn't have the money, at the time, to get them done. I have come up with some options on how to avoid this problem. The first is the creative/non expensive options where you can buy little arts and crafts diamonds and glue (krazy glue works) them to the wide empty space and paint the top nail whatever color you would like. You also can paint the space a different color than the tip if you want to be a little bit more artsy (pic#2 & #3) in a effort to stall until you get your next refill. Another inexpensive option is the acrylic take home kit (pic#4,#5.) They sell these kits at drug stores, the 1st one below is from Rite Aide for $6.99 or from hair supply stores. The second kit was from the brand KISS it is priced at $11.99. There are tons more with much more stuff in it but if it cost over $12 you might has well go to the salon and just get the refill. The problem that I found using this kit is that it is hard to achieve that smooth look that you would get at the salon. Unless you know what your doing or have fancy nail tools, I wouldn't go with this option. The best option is to either go completely natural and paint away, which is what I am doing or go to the salon and get your nail did! I have pick a few cute options, down below, to keep in mind while your sitting in the salon chair. Thank you so much for reading, hope it helps, have a wonderful day and remember to always keep it cute :)

Truth Tuesday: Words & Actions Can Hurt!

Hey everybody hope your week went well. It is so cold in Philly; we are have blizzards, wind and BS!! I wish I had the money to go to the beach somewhere, have a nice fruity drink and get warm. My week went ok, nothing but the normal looking for jobs, no one calling me, you know the usual. There was, however a little bit of a incident last Wednesday that I wanted to talk about. So me and a special friend  went to I Hop because we wanted to hang out together grab a bite; I love pancakes and they love me. So as we where eating, there were some younger kids that sat across from us that decided to take pics of me and my friend. Now me and him are both big and I am assuming that's why they were talking pics. I honesty didn't think anything of it at first, I thought it was stupid of them to be taking a picture of us eating, also I didn't realize that people still make fun of big people out loud only because in my personal experience I haven't had to deal with this type of thing since high school. I felt like we are big so what, we still look good. As the day went on I became concerned. It didn't bother me that they were making fun of me (I was more concerned at how did the picture turn out, I hope my shirt was down in back, I look pretty nice that day) but I was feeling some type of way that they were making fun of him. I thought we were having ok time and then those kids ruined it. I don't want myself or anyone I care about to feel uncomfortable. My friend was cool about it but I thought that was so mean and immature. I have gotten over the situation since then but it reminded me of when I was younger in middle school and high school when I was made fun of for being a big girl. Back then I would go home and cry because words and actions can hurt. As I grew up I didn't have to deal with people openly saying rude things to me, I also realized that there were a lot of guys who like the thickness, and that I was also a bit of hypocrite. I talked about people looks too and when it came to men I had a type too, everyone has a preference. How could I be mad at somebody who don't like big girls when there are types of men that I don't like. How can I be mad at somebody for talking about me when I have talked about other people. I had to look at myself and change myself as well, which in a weird way made me less self conscious. Don't get me wrong STUFF STILL HURTS MY FEELINGS but I learned that it takes time and growth for people to change their ignorance. I noticed that the way you treat people, in some cases start with your parents. If they make fun of somebodies appearance then their children will. Other reason is that they want to fit in with the other kids everything is funny when you are trying to be in with the cool kids. The entertainment industry doesn't help either; there is nothing but smaller women on her t.v and computer screens. There are beautiful plus side women has well but you mostly see them as co-stars or used for comedy. Also   talking about other people makes you feel good about yourself and the things you have, due to our own insecurities. Even big girls make fun of big girls which makes no since at all to me!!!The way things are now a days makes me nerves to have children, I don't want anyone picking on them or putting them on social networks. All I can do is make sure that I teach them that hurting others with words and/or actions is wrong and maybe throw in some karate lessons just in case. Some people think that when big people such as myself ask for respect or try to step out into the forefront and make moves weather it be in television or fashion that we are encouraging others to be unhealthy. For heath reason I am trying to loose weight but am I suppose to hide until then, am I suppose to be talked about everyday until I loose weight, Hell no! I'm going to embrace the skin that I am in and continue to work hard to make myself better and grow in the fashion industry. I hope that more plus size movements start and continue to grow. The negative people are just going to have to deal with it. I do hope one day that every size and shape with one day feel comfortable in this world. Everything starts with us, if we change how we treat people and teach our children how treat people then slowly we will start to see a change; every little bit counts!!!!

What's the T: Should A Mom Wear Risque Clothing?

So everyone is talking about Amber Rose and her barley there string one piece. The main controversy is the fact that she is a mother to her son worth ex husband Wiz Kalifa. Mothers Kim Kardashian and Black Chyna have also been known to bear it all. My question is do you think it is appropriate for a mom to dress this way? So here is my opinion I think that they all look amazing and don't think it's necessary for them to put it All out like that but that's not the topic. As far as them being moms, I don't think that it is appropriate if the children are around. Like for me I can't have my boobs out while playing with my kid, I think that it's  a little rated R. Now if your out with your girls and/or your man then let it all hang out, Do You Boo Boo. At the same time they are celebrities and even if they are out with their friends they get photographed either way but their grown. All their kids are younger but when they get older they will know about these pictures it may be a little embarrassing but what mother doesn't embarrass their kids??? What is your opinion on this topic? Should a mom dress this way???

Whack Wednesday

Now before I give you the latest tip, in no way, shape or form am I saying not to embrace whatever figure you have, you are beautiful. At the same time I want women to be confident when they step out of their home, so if my tips help you to do so then my job here is done. This Wednesday I wanna talk about the flat butt. I love having a little rump shaker back there and I use to have a flat booty myself. I guess thorough out time and experience it sorta just popped out. For those of you who have a struggle booty, I have some tips to make that booty come to life. So first the workout route, the best way to enhance the booty is by doing good ol' fashion lunges and squats. This works the muscles in your back side and gives you a nice plump booty. Now you could do a 30min booty workout ooorrr do" 30 a day to keep the struggle away!" There is also the booty enhancing short. Forever foxy.com has a ton of different styles and prices for you to choose from. The ones down below(second photo) are only $9.95 and range in sizes s-2xl. There is also the option of creating an illusion. Embellished jeans are not just a fashion statement but they are also a way to appear to have a bigger booty. The two pairs below are from Layne Bryant and they retail for $89.95. They are a bit pricey but they are a good quality jean; they are the only jeans I buy. I hope these tips help you ladies and have a great Wednesday :)

Truth Tuesday

I am soooooo tired but I have to stay up and be productive. Looking for jobs is the worst process in the world. Today I had to do a digital simulation, like ummmm. Things are getting more in depth when applying for a job. It's no longer just going to the store, fill out applications; oooohhhh nnnnoooo there is a application to fill out, a questionnaire to fill out and then a computer simulation to test your customer service. One job I applied for I had to take a math test smh  but you have to do what you gotta do. I Hope something comes through soon. I want to save, travel, move and of course shop. Also i don't want just any job, i want to be happy to go to work everyday.Everything takes time though. I'll just continue to fill out these 2 day long applications. I'm starting to see the results to this dieting thing. When I see a roll disappear I'll know I made it. The love life is on pause (not by choice) but I guess it's a good thing for now because I'm trying to get my ish together. I don't really want to date;the thing about dating is Nobody Wants To Date Anymore! What happened to going to the movies, going out dinner, get to know  each other without expecting sex right away and I think 3 months is a good dating period before have a relationship. I don't understand. Guys (in my experience) move too fast or they have no intention on being commented to one women. I'm hoping me and "the one" find each other. Until then I'm going to focus on bettering myself.

Happy Birthday Martin Luther King Jr.

Thank you for all that you have done to make us all equal.

Mad In Love Monday

So I have been a fan of this designer for a looonnnggg time but this Monday I am madly in love with Michael Costello. His clothing is amazing; sexy yet classy. He is an amazing designer, that I was surprised to find out, had no formal training. Michael never went to school and learned how to drape or to sew; it was all natural talent. He did his first couture collection when he was only 14 years old! He was also a season 8 finalist on Project Runway. Not only his he talented but he is very involved in giving back; for example doing charity fashion shows in order to help the homeless. Today he is one of the most sought after couture designers and I am such a fan of his work. Now all he has to do his make a plus size couture line :)

Style Star

My Style Star this Sunday is actress Gina Rodriguez. She is currently staring in the CW t.v show Jane the Virgin, which I love! What I love about her style is it's girly and bright; she is not afraid of prints, sparkles or lace. She has a very girl next door look to her but at the same time has a sexiness to her look as well. She's talented, adorable and funny; my style star Gina Rodriquez:)
